A delegation from the Tunisian Human Rights league (LTDH) -composed of the administrative committee and presidents of some branches- heading toward the Ministry of Justice was prevented from reaching the Ministry office; Many policemen blockaded the delegation way;
The purpose of the delegation headed by the president of the LTDH, Mokhtar Trifi, was to submit a letter demanding the discharge of Mining Basin prisoners on the occasion of the passing of one year since the occurrence of the bloody movements in South East in which youths were martyred by police forces that used firearms to confront the peaceful demonstration of 6 June 2008. A number of LTDH branches made attempts to submit similar letters in states locales but police forces obstructed them as well and prevented them from arriving by using physical violence and abuses.
