Radio Kalima’s Press Conference

On Saturday May 7th, 2011 Radio Kalima board held a press conference in the radio premises in Charguia 2.
The invitation for the press conference was made in emergency after the latest developments, which were mainly related to the latest statements of Mr.Farhat Rajhi, a judge and the former Interior Minister.
Indeed Mrs. Sihem ben Sedrine has been accused of sending the two journalists who interviewed him and published the interview without permission.
 Mrs. Sihem Ben Sedrine firmly denied this accusation.
 She declared that she knows Mr. Rajhi position since his dismissal but didn’t allow herself to publish it without the latter permission.
Moreover Mr. Omar Mestiri, the manager of the radio, mentioned the continuation of the deprivation of the radio from having a license and from broadcasting on the FM.
He also made reference to the role of the President of the High Commission of Communication in this license denial.
During their interaction with the journalists, who attended the press conference, the radio’s manager, editor in chief and journalists referred to the continuing police’s harassment against the radio and its staff .
They furthermore denounced the savage assault on their colleague Marwa Rekik .
